Summer Brief

Throughout the Summer Holidays we were given a project in which we were to Analyse the History of our Chosen Discipline as well as looking at a person who has influenced your Discipline.

First began my research by looking into the Chauvet Caves (Located in the South of France)  which is believed to be the foundation of Graphic Art. Cave paintings of Hundreds of graphic designs of animals were drawn by the primitive people.

Here you can see an example of the Cauvet Cave painting, painted more than 30,000 BC.

The caves were first discovered on December 18 1994 by a group of three speleologist:
Eliette Brunel-Deschamps
Christian Hillaire
Jean-Marie Chauvet

the caves were later named after Jean-Marie Chauvet in 1996

My research continued as I looked at the Blau Monument. The Blau Monument is best known as the first object discovered to have both Images and a form of language together to mark what appears to be a transaction in which land was exchanged for goods.
