A topic was given to Each student in which they were to Create two double page spreads and a cover based on this Topic. I was given Travel and decided to take an unusual look at this topic by focusing on the Travel of the Homeless.
Cabe
Cabe is a successful campaign to help promote Public Parks. We were to create a campaign in any media that would also put that across . For my concept I wanted something eye catching and something that would provoke a curiosity. My Tag line 'Be Part Of It' helps get my message across. Why not make the public park apart of you and your Life? Why not add it into your daily routine? For the imagery I took all photos myself and created the illustration's within photoshop. I also wanted imagery that would show what you could do at your local park. I have represented male, female and couples.
Couch Potato Book Jacket
For a brief, we were to create a book Jacket that would best represent the content within. The topic I chose was 'Fit for Nothing', detailing the life of a couch potato. To best represent that I wanted a grunge feel while representing the unhealthy lifestyle. I created a couch made from potato and fried it to help represent this. I also distorted the paper so show mess and grunge.
Bouldering Magazine
Pick a topic that interests you...hmm! For me that was Bouldering. Here I have created three double page spreads. For each spread, i have used eroded text to represent the rock face in which they climb.
I wished for a spread to have an image that interacted with the text. Within this image I have placed the header so it looks as if the man is climbing on the text.
For this final spread, I created an illustration and placed it over a photo. This gives the image a cartoon like look while keeping the details of the rock face and mans clothing.
Racism Campaign
For this brief we were to help promote anti-rasicm for the already very successful campaign 'show racism the red card'(a campaign to help stop discrimination within football)
Here I have created a poster. For this I have used my own photography. The tagline that I have used is 'Don't let It Under Your Skin'. I chose to use an image like this to give the feel of a locker room to link it to Football. The band-aid used on the mans arm is to cover a wound so it cannot get under his skin.
HNC Graded Unit
For my HNC Graded Unit we were given several briefs to choose from. I chose Lifeline. Lifeline is a Northern Ireland crisis response helpline (focusing on Suicide). For this brief, I was to help promote and raise awareness about the hotline within Northern Ireland using any media. The concept I developed is that Lifeline is a friendly, supportive helpline. You will be counselled by others who have suffered from depression and so therefore know how you feel. Lifeline helps show a positive side to the current situation that is having a negative impact on your life.
The Bright Colours represent the positive within the negative issue. Here I have used a toilet cubical as a location. It is known that suicide occurs more between the ages of 15-24. When upset, many use a toilet cubical as an escape.
Magazine Ad - Here is two ads create to promote within a magazine. Again using 3d text linking to the posters so recognition is established. For the second ad I used brightly coloured text that remarks positive things. This is overlaid on negative remarks.
Here I created two billboards
